About the role

Buena is building verticals - insurance, brokerage, energy, financing - each one a business in its own right, powered by the 70,000+ units already on our platform. We need someone who can identify, validate, and scale these verticals from zero. This is a senior individual contributor role where you'll own the trajectory of entirely new revenue lines.

What you'll do

  • Identify and validate new verticals. Analyze our portfolio of 70,000+ units to find where property owners have unmet needs - insurance, brokerage, energy optimization, financing, renovations. Build the business case, test demand, and define the go-to-market.
  • Build the growth engine for each vertical. Design how each new service reaches property owners through the product itself - in-app recommendations, usage-based triggers, automated cross-sell at the right moment. Think systems, not one-off campaigns.
  • Own the P&L from day one. Each vertical you launch is yours. You'll define the metrics, set targets, track unit economics, and iterate until it works. If a vertical doesn't have a path to profitability, you kill it and move on.
  • Run experiments, fast. Test pricing models, packaging, onboarding flows, and distribution channels for each vertical. You'll have a strong opinion on what to try and the discipline to measure it properly.
  • Work with portfolio companies on the ground. Buena's property managers are your distribution channel and your feedback loop. You'll spend real time with the teams across our 12 locations understanding what property owners actually need.
  • Instrument everything. Define and own growth metrics per vertical. Build dashboards. Set up tracking. If we can't measure it, it doesn't exist.

What you'll need

  • Experience growth, strategy, or new business building at ideally a company with a real-world operations layer (proptech, fintech, marketplace, logistics). Venture building or 0→1 experience is a strong signal.
  • Commercial instinct. You see a portfolio of 70,000 units and immediately start thinking about what else you can sell into it. You understand unit economics, margins, and what it takes to make a new business line work.
  • Strong analytical skills. You think in cohorts, LTV, and payback periods. SQL is second nature. You're comfortable building your own analyses without waiting for a data team.
  • Product-minded. You can write a solid product spec, work directly with engineers, and embed growth mechanics into software - not just run campaigns alongside it.
  • Entrepreneurial. You treat each vertical like your own startup and figure things out without a playbook.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity. We're building new business lines, not optimizing existing ones. You'll define the roadmap, not inherit it.
  • Fluent in English. German is a strong plus.
