Senior Software Engineer - Energy Data Platform

About the role

In the Energy Platform, you will help build and shape a state-of-the-art Data Platform at the center of Enpal's entire solar system fleet that will enable other teams to build stellar customer experiences. You will own the integration and digital operation of Enpal's products installed at customer homes, from controlling heatpumps to trading energy on the market.

What you'll do

• Build software delivering incremental value in each iteration and improving people's experience with solutions toward climate goals.
• Improve developer happiness by enhancing stability, automating load tests and vulnerability scans, and eliminating manual repetitive work.
• Work on architecture and vision, analyzing new requirements to see which moving parts would need to change and exploring opportunities to solve organization-spanning challenges with elegant architectural solutions.
• Steer for empathy and understanding by asking critical questions and listening to operations, craftspeople, and sales to balance stakeholder needs.
• Grow and learn from team knowledge about Kafka, Databricks, test-driven development, and similar technologies.

What you'll need

• Proven track record of delivering high-quality software products that are scalable, flexible, maintainable, and testable.
• Experience independently setting up and managing pipelines, infrastructure, and deployment of code without relying on dedicated DevOps teams.
• Sufficient cloud infrastructure experience to manage full implementation of services into projects.
• Experience with microservice architecture and strong knowledge of software architecture design patterns, including Event Driven Architecture.
• Collaborative mindset, actively contributing to team discussions and open to giving and receiving feedback.
• Clear communication skills in written and spoken English; German knowledge is an advantage.
