As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will support the design, implementation, and day-to-day operation of the internal platform that powers our applications and services. You will work closely with senior platform engineers and development teams to automate operational tasks, improve developer experience, and ensure our systems remain reliable, secure, and scalable.

What you'll do

  • Automate daily platform operations by streamlining recurring tasks, improving deployment workflows, and reducing manual work through scripting and infrastructure automation.
  • Support scalable infrastructure. Work with the team to maintain and improve our cloud-native environment while learning how large-scale systems are designed and operated.
  • Collaborate with experienced engineers on topics such as Kubernetes operations, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and infrastructure as code.
  • Improve the developer experience by enhancing usability, reliability, and documentation so engineers can ship faster and safer.
  • Suggest meaningful changes that increase stability, performance, and automation across our tooling and environments.
  • Work with developers, operations, and security to understand real needs and translate them into practical platform solutions.

What you'll need

  • 5+ years of experience in cloud, DevOps, or software engineering roles.
  • Strong experience with cloud environments and containerized applications (e.g., Azure, Kubernetes, or similar).
  • Knowledge with at least some of the following: Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), CI/CD tools, Helm, GitOps concepts (e.g., ArgoCD), or observability tooling.
  • Scripting or programming experience in languages such as Python, TypeScript, C#, or similar.
  • Interest in platform engineering, automation, and improving how software is built and operated.
  • Willingness to coach junior engineers and take ownership of components and tooling.
  • Clear communication skills in English, spoken and written.

Nice to have

  • Exposure to developer platforms or tools such as Backstage.
  • Experience working in an agile environment.
  • Understanding of monitoring, alerting, or incident response basics.
  • Knowledge of German.

What they offer

  • Hybrid work model with flexibility between remote work and Berlin office
  • Mission-driven environment contributing directly to the energy transition
  • Culture that values ownership, initiative, engineering excellence and continuous learning
