The IT Systems Engineer is a key member of the IT Infrastructure team, responsible for the administration, configuration, and maintenance of IT systems used to manage and control end-user devices, services, and enterprise applications. This role handles 2nd and 3rd-level technical support, system optimization, and ensures the stability, security, and scalability of platforms such as Entra, Jamf, Intune, Microsoft Office 365, MS Defender, Atlassian tools, and other IT systems.
What you'll do
- Administer and maintain core IT systems including Microsoft Entra (Azure AD), Intune, Jamf, Office 365, MS Defender, and Atlassian tools.
- Monitor system performance, apply updates, and ensure optimal uptime for critical IT services.
- Provide 2nd and 3rd-level support for IT systems and infrastructure issues, resolving escalated incidents efficiently.
- Conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues and implement permanent fixes or system improvements.
- Administer and maintain Cisco Meraki infrastructure, including access points, switches, and security appliances.
- Manage and troubleshoot VPN solutions, ensuring secure and reliable remote access for employees.
- Configure IT systems to align with organizational policies and lead IT projects such as system migrations and upgrades.
- Implement and enforce IT security measures, including role-based access controls, encryption, and endpoint security policies.
What you'll need
- Proven experience in a similar role, managing enterprise IT systems in a medium-to-large organization.
- Deep expertise in administering Microsoft Entra (Azure AD), Intune, Jamf, Office 365, MS Defender, and Atlassian tools.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including IP addressing, DNS, VPNs, and firewalls.
- Scripting and automation experience (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, or Python) for task automation and system management.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with a logical and methodical approach to diagnosing issues.
- Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Nice to have
- Experience with Cisco Meraki infrastructure.
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator, or Jamf Certified Tech.
- ITIL certification or experience with IT service management frameworks.
