About the role
The Business Continuity Manager is responsible for establishing, maintaining and continuously improving the organization's business continuity framework. This is an individual contributor manager role without disciplinary people management responsibility and with direct reporting to the CISO.
What you'll do
- Design, implement and maintain the Business Continuity Management framework, including standards, governance structures and core processes.
- Lead Business Impact Analyses to identify critical processes, dependencies, recovery priorities and resilience requirements.
- Develop, maintain and regularly review business continuity plans, recovery plans and crisis response documentation.
- Coordinate continuity testing, simulation exercises and scenario-based validations, and track follow-up actions.
- Work closely with Information Security, Technology, Product, Operations, Legal, Compliance, Data Protection and other business stakeholders to embed resilience into business operations.
- Establish reporting for the CISO and relevant stakeholders on continuity risks, maturity, action status and resilience priorities.
- Support the continuity assessment of third parties, critical vendors and operational dependencies.
- Promote awareness and preparedness across the organization through guidance, workshops and ongoing stakeholder engagement.
What you'll need
- Several years of experience in Business Continuity Management, Operational Resilience, Crisis Management, IT Risk, Information Security or Enterprise Risk.
- Strong knowledge of continuity and resilience standards such as ISO 22301, ISO 27001, NIST or similar frameworks.
- Practical experience in conducting BIAs, building continuity plans, facilitating tests and managing recovery-related actions.
- Strong ability to assess business and technology dependencies and translate findings into pragmatic resilience measures.
- Excellent organizational, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; German is a strong advantage.
