Android Engineer - KMP

About the role

You'll work as an Android Developer on SumUp's Point-of-Sale solution within their SuperApp, helping cafes, shops, and other businesses operate efficiently. You'll collaborate with a cross-functional team while contributing to their Kotlin Multiplatform strategy to enable shared development across Android and iOS.

What you'll do

• Build new features for the item catalog within the SumUp SuperApp
• Help improve the architecture of the application and contribute to Kotlin Multiplatform strategy
• Enhance and maintain the unified android app distributed across 60+ countries
• Shape the product's evolution by identifying opportunities for improvement
• Write thorough documentation and implement robust testing for features
• Collaborate closely with Designer, Product Manager and Android engineers
• Coach and mentor other engineers

What you'll need

• 3+ years experience in mobile engineering with Android and Kotlin
• 2+ years of experience working with Jetpack Compose
• Solid understanding of software design patterns (MVVM, MVI) and modular app architectures
• Good knowledge of reactive programming (Flow, Coroutines and Concurrency)
• Strong grasp of testing best practices and resilient test writing
• Strive for clean code while balancing pragmatism and perfection

• Keen interest in multi-platform development using Kotlin Multiplatform
