About the role

This is a part-time Legal Working Student position (20 hours per week) in Berlin, supporting Contentful's global legal team with contract negotiation and legal compliance tasks. You'll work on non-disclosure agreements, customer and vendor contracts in both German and English while collaborating with Sales, Partnerships, and IT teams.

What you'll do

  • Draft and negotiate contracts with customers and vendors from various industries in German and English
  • Assist with legal matters focusing on contract law, IT law, data protection law, and IP law
  • Support Legal Counsels and VP Legal while working cross-functionally with Marketing, IT, Sales and Workplace teams
  • Support privacy (GDPR) compliance by ensuring documentation and processes are followed
  • Conduct independent legal research on new laws, regulations and guidelines

What you'll need

  • Currently enrolled law student at a German University studying German law with interest in startups and technology
  • Strong administration skills with attention to detail and fast learning ability
  • Good English communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Genuine interest in technology and cloud services

Nice to have

  • Basic knowledge and experience in privacy/data protection and/or contract law
  • Previous experience as working student or intern in legal department and/or startup
