Chief Technology Officer

About the role

CTO position at an AI-driven trade platform connecting industrial suppliers across Asia, Europe, and GCC with local demand. You'll lead a 20-person engineering team and evolve existing AI systems from workflow automation into fully autonomous commercial orchestration for materials trading.

What you'll do

• Design and implement multi-agent AI systems capable of autonomous commercial decisions across pricing, procurement, logistics, and financing
• Architect AI-native fintech integration including algorithmic working capital allocation and real-time credit risk assessment
• Scale engineering organization from 20 to 30+ people while developing internal technical leadership
• Build observability and evaluation infrastructure for agent behavior auditing and debugging
• Structure governance frameworks for outsourced engineering and hybrid delivery models
• Communicate technical roadmap and trade-offs to leadership and board level
• Ensure model-agnostic architecture independent of single foundation model providers

What you'll need

• 10+ years engineering experience with 5+ years in senior technical leadership at scale-ups
• Demonstrated experience building and operating multi-agent AI systems in production environments
• Deep backend and distributed systems expertise including event streaming, microservices, and database scaling
• Experience operating AI systems in regulated or high-stakes commercial environments
• Track record scaling engineering teams from 10 to 30+ people
• Strong LLM selection, fine-tuning, and evaluation intuitions
• Hands-on familiarity with agentic frameworks and production ML systems
• Understanding of AI system reliability including rate limits and fallback strategies

Nice to have

• Familiarity with fintech infrastructure, credit systems, or embedded finance
• Experience designing hybrid engineering models with external delivery partners
