Senior Software Engineer (Backend focused) - Supply

About the role

You'll be a Senior Full Stack Engineer working on GetYourGuide's marketplace platform, building features that enable customers to book travel experiences and help partners grow their businesses. You'll work in cross-functional mission teams to create scalable solutions that impact millions of travelers worldwide.

What you'll do

• Work with engineers, designers, and analysts in cross-functional teams
• Design, launch, and iterate on A/B experiments to help teams learn about customers
• Maintain high-quality standards and continuously improve code base, systems, and processes
• Design and develop efficient solutions that can scale globally
• Mentor team members and participate in hiring processes
• Contribute to team roadmap and long-term strategy
• Work with Java, Spring Boot, Vue.js, SASS, Node.js, PHP, MySQL, PostgreSQL, GraphQL, Kafka, Kubernetes

What you'll need

• 6+ years of software development experience
• Expertise in web application development using component-based frameworks
• High proficiency in Java
• Experience designing architecture and deployment of web applications and services
• Experience with writing tests
• Ability to turn ideas into fast, reliable, and maintainable code
• Customer-centric prioritization and data-driven decision-making skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Node.js, Vue.js, or similar component-based frontend frameworks
• Experience with A/B testing, hypothesis building, and event-based analytics
• Prior experience working in e-commerce
• Prior experience in startup environments
