About the role

As an Accounting Manager, you'll take full responsibility for operational accounting and ensure stable, clean financial processes at a renewable energy software company. You'll work closely with the Finance Lead to establish solid operational foundations as the company brings accounting functions in-house.

What you'll do

  • Handle operational accounting including accounts receivable and payable
  • Maintain, reconcile and monitor the general ledger
  • Monitor, clarify and track open items for receivables and liabilities
  • Prepare monthly closing documentation in collaboration with tax advisors and controlling
  • Review, book and reconcile incoming and outgoing invoices
  • Conduct and monitor intercompany reconciliations
  • Manage monthly and annual reporting including VAT returns and statistical reporting
  • Handle customer invoice inquiries and coordinate with internal teams and external partners
  • Maintain and develop approval and workflow tools for structured pre-entry of accounting data
  • Ensure clear, traceable and efficient daily operations
  • Identify pragmatic improvements and automation opportunities in finance processes

What you'll need

  • Experience with operational accounting and DATEV accounting software
  • Knowledge of monthly closing processes and financial compliance requirements
  • Experience with accounts receivable/payable management and open items tracking
  • Understanding of German tax reporting including VAT returns
  • Strong communication skills for customer and stakeholder interactions
  • Process optimization mindset with focus on efficiency and automation
