About the role

We are seeking a dedicated People Operations Lead Germany. You will lead and develop our Germany People Operations Specialists and also directly own and drive operational work across the employee lifecycle, including complex cases and stakeholder alignment.

What you'll do

  • Lead and coach the Germany People Operations Specialists, building capability and a culture of continuous improvement and innovative thinking
  • Stay hands-on operationally, owning key People Operations topics across the employee lifecycle and managing escalated cases; ensure Germany processes align with the global People Services model and act as backup for the global team lead when needed
  • Drive and implement process improvements that enhance the German employee experience while increasing compliance, efficiency, and scalability
  • Own Germany audit requests and compliance readiness, partnering with key internal stakeholders (Payroll, People Systems, Legal, People Partners/Relations) and external counsel where required
  • Lead German labor law reviews and translate requirements into practical operational standards, documentation, and local policy work (e.g., Health & Safety, policy creation/updates), ensuring rollout and adoption

What you'll need

  • University degree in HR, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology (or related)
  • 5+ years in People Ops/HR Ops, ideally in a fast-paced, international environment
  • Proven people management experience — you enjoy coaching and developing others while staying hands-on operationally
  • Strong German labor law knowledge; confident partnering on compliance topics with Payroll/Legal/People Partners/People Systems and external counsel when needed
  • German native/mother tongue and fluent English; highly effective stakeholder manager (people-first, pragmatic, structured, able to juggle priorities)
  • Comfortable with HR tech and tooling (Workday or similar HRIS, Jira Service Management, Google Workspace) while being curious about AI and automation, ideally with proven examples of using them to increase efficiency and scalability
