FP&A Lead - Business Finance Partner

About the role

This is a newly created Finance Director role for Germany, serving as a trusted financial partner to the local leadership team while building financial models, reports, and frameworks. You'll act as the right hand to the Finance Director with a player-coach role, ensuring every leader understands their financial position and can navigate their budget confidently.

What you'll do

  • Create and maintain monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reports for the German business unit
  • Conduct variance analysis and translate numbers into actionable recommendations
  • Build and maintain dashboards and financial models to track KPIs and business drivers
  • Coordinate the annual budget process and maintain rolling forecasts based on driver-based models
  • Serve as primary finance contact for the German leadership team
  • Provide clear financial guidance including budget rules, spending frameworks, and headcount frameworks
  • Lead regular budget reviews with business leaders and support investment decisions
  • Coordinate with Core Finance teams to ensure timely monthly closing
  • Contribute to finance data transformation and evaluate AI-powered tools for automation
  • Support building accessible financial documentation for non-finance stakeholders

What you'll need

  • Minimum 5 years experience, ideally in audit (Big Four) plus FP&A or business controlling
  • Expert-level financial modeling skills and excellent Excel/Google Sheets proficiency
  • Strong communication skills to translate numbers into clear action recommendations
  • Structured, detail-oriented mindset with big picture perspective
  • Proactive, independent, and comfortable with ambiguity
  • Collaborative and team-oriented approach
  • C1 level German and English language skills

Nice to have

  • Experience in tech/SaaS environment and matrix organizations
  • Experience with BI tools (Tableau, Looker, etc.)
  • French language skills
