About the role
This is a newly created Finance Director role for Germany, serving as a trusted financial partner to the local leadership team while building financial models, reports, and frameworks. You'll act as the right hand to the Finance Director with a player-coach role, ensuring every leader understands their financial position and can navigate their budget confidently.
What you'll do
- Create and maintain monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reports for the German business unit
- Conduct variance analysis and translate numbers into actionable recommendations
- Build and maintain dashboards and financial models to track KPIs and business drivers
- Coordinate the annual budget process and maintain rolling forecasts based on driver-based models
- Serve as primary finance contact for the German leadership team
- Provide clear financial guidance including budget rules, spending frameworks, and headcount frameworks
- Lead regular budget reviews with business leaders and support investment decisions
- Coordinate with Core Finance teams to ensure timely monthly closing
- Contribute to finance data transformation and evaluate AI-powered tools for automation
- Support building accessible financial documentation for non-finance stakeholders
What you'll need
- Minimum 5 years experience, ideally in audit (Big Four) plus FP&A or business controlling
- Expert-level financial modeling skills and excellent Excel/Google Sheets proficiency
- Strong communication skills to translate numbers into clear action recommendations
- Structured, detail-oriented mindset with big picture perspective
- Proactive, independent, and comfortable with ambiguity
- Collaborative and team-oriented approach
- C1 level German and English language skills
Nice to have
- Experience in tech/SaaS environment and matrix organizations
- Experience with BI tools (Tableau, Looker, etc.)
- French language skills
