Software Engineer - FullStack

About the role

As a Software Engineer on the Self-Employed team at Taxfix, you'll build core features for their flagship tax filing product, turning complex tax scenarios into simple, reliable user experiences. You'll work in a cross-functional team to deliver customer journeys while championing strong engineering practices focused on scalability, quality, and maintainability.

What you'll do

• Collaborate with product management and design to solve customer problems
• Contribute to technical direction and strategy for long-term product vision
• Create great developer experience through good tools and practices that enable seamless delivery
• Work in cross-functional teams with other platform and product teams
• Support an environment that values development, growth, and open communication

What you'll need

• 2+ years experience with React (ideally React Native) on the Frontend
• 2+ years of experience with Node.js on Backend
• Exposure to public Cloud Environment (Google Cloud, AWS or MS Azure)
• Familiarity with DevOps tools and concepts
• Knowledge of backend concepts and technologies (authentication systems, databases, cloud)
• Experience with integrating with diverse APIs
• Passion for writing maintainable and elegant code
• Pragmatic approach with strong positive attitude

Nice to have

• Curiosity for AI-assisted development and familiarity with tools such as Cursor or GitHub Copilot
