Sr. Data Science Manager (m/w/x)

About the role

A Senior Data Science Manager position leading a team of 4 data scientists and ML engineers at Grover, a Berlin-based tech subscription company. You'll be responsible for managing credit risk and fraud detection models while driving data-inspired decision-making across the organization.

What you'll do

• Lead and develop a team of 2 Data Scientists and 2 ML Engineers
• Own and continuously improve Grover's credit risk and fraud detection models
• Guide the team in adopting MLOps best practices
• Expand the Data Science roadmap by identifying high-impact use cases like Customer Lifetime Value and churn prediction
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Risk, and Finance teams to align solutions with business objectives
• Represent data science and ML in key initiatives across the company
• Advocate for data-inspired decision-making organization-wide

What you'll need

• Proven track record of managing Data Scientists and/or ML Engineers
• Strong background in Data Science/ML for predictive modeling, fraud detection, and credit risk analysis
• Proficiency in Python and SQL
• Experience with cloud-based ML infrastructure (AWS SageMaker, Azure Machine Learning, Vertex)
• Experience in eCommerce context preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Ability to thrive in scale-up environment and deliver measurable business value
