Staff Engineer – Cloud Platform

About the role

Trade Republic is seeking a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to lead the technical direction and reliability strategy of their cloud infrastructure platform. You'll architect and build secure, scalable systems that power products used by millions of customers across 18 countries.

What you'll do

• Lead the architectural direction of large-scale cloud infrastructure, ensuring reliability, resilience and scalability
• Drive observability and reliability initiatives, defining standards for monitoring, alerting, and system ownership
• Shape the evolution of AWS-based platform, improving automation and developer experience
• Influence roadmaps and lead cross-team execution of critical platform projects
• Coach and empower engineers through actionable feedback, fostering operational excellence
• Build internal Observability, Networking, and IAM platforms for engineers

What you'll need

• Deep experience in software engineering with strong foundations in cloud platforms and distributed systems
• Strong programming skills in Go, Kotlin, Java, Python with emphasis on engineering excellence
• Expertise in building observability platforms and establishing operational standards
• Proven experience architecting scalable, resilient cloud networking infrastructure
• Clear understanding of authentication, authorization, and trust models in cloud-native systems
• Proven track record leading complex, business-critical systems and cross-team initiatives
• Exceptional ownership, communication and ability to drive technical solutions while empowering colleagues
