About the role

We are hiring an Agentic AI Engineer to help transform Apheris into an AI-first company, enhancing business workflows by leveraging agents. This role is focused on building Apheris' internal AI-first data foundation and deploying agentic workflows that materially improve how teams access information, make decisions, and execute.

What you'll do

  • Build Apheris' AI-first internal data foundation across meeting transcripts, email, Slack, CRM, Confluence, product documentation, and external signals
  • Design pragmatic data pipelines, schemas, and retrieval systems optimized for LLM access
  • Design and deploy agentic workflows and LLM interfaces used daily by teams, including pre-meeting briefings, automated debriefs, customer feedback extraction, and decision dashboards
  • Identify high-value workflows across commercial, product, and leadership teams and replace manual processes with AI-native workflows
  • Move fast from prototype to reliable internal tooling with lightweight standards for data quality, access control, and monitoring
  • Build secure, reliable agent systems with process isolation, strict permissioning, fail-safes, and rollback mechanisms
  • Act as a key driver in making Apheris an AI-native organization and bring in best practices from agentic AI and workflow automation

What you'll need

  • 2–4 years of experience in applied AI, data systems, or building internal agentic tools in high-performance environments
  • Strong hands-on experience with LLMs, retrieval-augmented systems, agent frameworks, workflow automation, and setting up secure execution environments
  • Solid data engineering capabilities including designing data pipelines, building structured data layers, integrating heterogeneous sources, and ensuring data quality
  • Experience building agentic workflows in real-world environments, particularly integrating various data sources
  • Familiarity with tools such as Claude Code, Pi (OpenClaw), or similar agent systems
  • Exceptional execution bias, entrepreneurial drive, strong engineering judgment, and high bar for quality and ownership
  • Fluent English; German optional

Nice to have

  • Background in fast-moving startup environments with high expectations on output
  • Exposure to scientific, technical, or data-intensive domains

What they offer

  • Industry-competitive compensation, including early-stage virtual share options
  • Remote-first working with office days at Berlin HQ or European location 3x per year
  • Wellbeing budget, mental health support, work-from-home budget, and learning budget
  • Generous holiday allowance
  • Significant ownership from day one with direct impact on company operations
