About the role

The Director of Finance & Transformation will lead Grover's finance transformation and technology roadmap, reporting directly to the CFO. This role focuses on designing, building, and scaling highly automated, system-driven accounting, payments, and tax processes that support the company's asset-centric business model while ensuring regulatory compliance.

What you'll do

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing Accounting, Payments, and Tax team with focus on automated, scalable finance operations
  • Design and implement strategic roadmap for accounting, tax, and financial compliance that scales with growth
  • Champion best practices and drive automation of standard accounting processes
  • Partner with IT and Product teams to optimize payment service provider setup and integration
  • Oversee financial reporting and compliance under German GAAP, ensuring timely and accurate closes
  • Establish and monitor internal controls system to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data
  • Represent Finance at leadership and board-level discussions on transformation progress and strategic initiatives

What you'll need

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or Chartered Accountant preferred
  • 10+ years experience in accounting, tax, and finance within Supply Chain, Consumer Lending, or FinTech scale-ups
  • At least 4 years of direct finance team leadership experience
  • Experience in complex finance environment with multiple European entities and deep knowledge of German GAAP and IFRS
  • Proven track record managing finance transformation projects including ERP systems like SAP S/4HANA
  • Technology-oriented mindset with "build than run" approach, thinking like a product owner for finance systems
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, agile environments with hands-on mentality
  • Fluent in both German and English (C1 minimum)

Nice to have

  • Master's degree or MBA
  • Experience within physical asset business models
  • Background in Big 4 or top-tier consulting at Director level
  • Experience with AI tooling and advanced automation applied to finance processes
