Design Engineer

We're looking for a Design Engineer: someone who designs interfaces, talks to users, and prototypes in code so ideas can be tested before they're built. You'll work directly with our CPO and sit in on customer calls every week. You'll design, prototype in code, test with users, iterate, and ship.

What you'll do

• Define the interaction model for AI in procurement - invent the interface between an AI agent and a procurement professional
• Design with real users, not personas - talk to category managers, procurement directors, and CPOs at major industrial companies every week
• Make LLMs feel magical by designing interfaces where AI output becomes interactive charts, action buttons that trigger workflows, and data cards that update in real time
• Prototype at the speed of thought - go from sketch to functional code prototype in hours, not weeks
• Translate validated designs into production by working closely with engineers

What you'll need

• Be a strong designer who prototypes in code - think in user flows and build functional prototypes in React/Next.js
• Have a portfolio that shows original thinking about interaction design, not just polished visual execution
• Be obsessive about user research - know how to run discovery calls and translate user insights into product direction
• Have a point of view on how AI products should work - opinions about conversational interfaces, agent-driven UX, or ambient intelligence
• Be comfortable challenging assumptions and exploring the full design space before converging
• Move fast and iterate - prototype in code and show rough work to users early

Nice to have

• Experience designing data-dense or analytical interfaces
• Any exposure to B2B, enterprise, or workflow-heavy products
• Ability to write production-quality frontend code
