About the role
As a Frontend Engineer on the Autonomous Air System V&V team, you'll build simulation and validation interfaces that enable rigorous testing of AI-driven autonomous air systems. You'll create Software-in-the-Loop and Hardware-in-the-Loop environments, developing complex technical UIs that turn simulation data into human-understandable visualizations for engineers and operators in high-stakes defense applications.
What you'll do
- Own user interfaces end-to-end from wireframes to production code, working with product and UX teams
- Build data visualizations for complex simulation outputs, test results, and AI behavior analysis
- Develop real-time interfaces for live test execution dashboards and streaming data displays
- Create and maintain component libraries ensuring consistency across multiple front-end products
- Translate complex technical data into intuitive, actionable interfaces for engineers
- Review code contributions and mentor colleagues as part of collaborative development culture
- Connect with backend systems written in Rust to improve integrations and unblock development
- Develop comprehensive tests and benchmarks to ensure robustness in critical applications
- Present work at weekly demo sessions and participate in technical knowledge sharing
What you'll need
- Strong frontend development experience with JavaScript and modern frameworks like React
- Experience designing technical products and data-heavy user interfaces
- User research and prototyping skills for complex technical applications
- Proficiency with APIs and server-client communication including REST and GraphQL
- Ability to work with unfamiliar backends, ideally with exposure to Rust
- Skills in writing legible, maintainable, and performant code
- Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written
- Experience with collaborative development including code reviews and pair programming
- Comfort with asynchronous work including PRs, RFCs, and email discussions
- Commitment to ethical engineering considerations
