Systems Engineer - Land

About the role

As a Systems Engineer - Land at Helsing, you'll be responsible for designing and implementing systems engineering for defence programmes focused on land forces. You'll work directly with industry partners, procurement agencies, and land forces to create complex systems that address battlefield challenges while maintaining strategic oversight and ensuring on-time, quality delivery.

What you'll do

• Develop system architecture aligned with software and defence requirements and supervise system integration
• Act as Subject Matter Expert for multiple project teams, providing guidance on RAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety)
• Collaborate with software architects and developers to translate system-level requirements into effective software solutions
• Lead overall system integration, verification, validation, qualification and certification processes
• Ensure smooth information flow and technical guidance between teams to align development objectives
• Conduct risk analysis to identify potential system vulnerabilities
• Establish and enforce quality assurance protocols for industry standards compliance
• Manage project timelines, resources and budget to deliver projects within scope
• Identify emerging trends and propose new software solutions for land defence systems
• Ensure all solutions adhere to safety protocols and government regulations

What you'll need

• 5+ years of experience in systems engineering of defence systems
• Experience in leading a project team
• In-depth knowledge of system architecture, requirements and integration of defence systems
• University degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field
• Business fluent English
• Willingness to travel
• Ability to obtain security clearance according to national law requirements
