iOS Engineer

About the role

As an iOS Engineer in the Design System team, you will translate SumUp's design language into reusable UI components and patterns that enable product teams to build cohesive, accessible user experiences. You'll collaborate closely with mobile platform teams to set standards and optimize systems used by millions of users worldwide.

What you'll do

• Shape the core experience of users and developers interacting with SumUp's iOS ecosystem
• Work with product and design teams to build maintainable, usable, and consistent components
• Embed accessibility best practices into every component including content descriptions, touch targets, and color contrast
• Provide technical support to product teams for company priorities like brand refreshes
• Review code contributions and guide engineers on best practices for reusable UI development
• Migrate legacy UIKit-based components to SwiftUI while maintaining system stability
• Identify and address tech debt proactively to ensure engineering excellence

What you'll need

• 3+ years of professional iOS development experience
• Fluency in Swift and Objective-C with deep knowledge of SwiftUI and UIKit
• Strong focus on crafting accessible user experiences and testing best practices
• Self-motivated working style with excellent English communication skills
• Interest in staying current with iOS ecosystem advancements
