Senior Cloud Security Engineer

About the role

We're looking for a Senior Cloud Security Engineer to lead proactive identification and mitigation of security threats while safeguarding sensitive data. You'll work with Platform and Data teams to strengthen our cloud infrastructure security and improve overall security maturity across AWS environments.

What you'll do

• Drive the Cloud Infrastructure Security function roadmap in alignment with Product Manager, Tech Lead, and Engineering Manager
• Own and define initiatives, solutions, processes and frameworks to identify and mitigate security threats within AWS infrastructure
• Design, deploy and maintain cloud-native security solutions with end-to-end data protection, threat detection, and automated controls
• Perform regular research to detect new attack vectors and conduct threat modeling sessions
• Monitor vulnerabilities, perform risk assessments and collaborate with cross-functional teams for mitigation
• Define pentesting scope and scenarios
• Develop and maintain security documentation and guidelines
• Provide support services to stakeholders through support portal
• Participate in security incident response on-call rotation and lead security incidents

What you'll need

• Competent understanding of securing AWS cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, containerized environments and Linux systems
• Experience with security risk assessment and mitigation strategies
• Knowledge of security frameworks including STRIDE, MITRE ATT&CK, and OWASP
• Understanding of cloud data security challenges and best practices
• Experience deploying security tools like CSPM/CNAPP, vulnerability scanners, IDS/IPS, endpoint security
• Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines and Terraform for automated security testing
• Hands-on experience with cloud technologies: VMs, containers, Kubernetes, serverless, infrastructure as code
• Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or GO
• Experience with ethical hacking and penetration testing methodologies
• Excellent communication skills and collaborative mindset
• Master's degree in cybersecurity or Bachelor's in computer science with advanced security certification

• Contributions to security community through open-source tools, research papers, or conference talks
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and project management
