About the role
We are looking for a Senior Database Reliability Engineer to join the Doctolib Database Optimization team. You'll work on ensuring the reliability and performance of our datastores while fostering a platform mindset in our transition to the "you build it, you run it" paradigm.
What you'll do
- Ensure high availability of datastores through observability, automation, tooling, backup strategies, disaster recovery planning and process improvement
- Handle database infrastructure maintenance including upgrades, performance optimization, cost optimization and capacity planning
- Empower feature teams with database tooling, guidelines, training and support to manage databases efficiently
- Participate in incident response for datastore-related issues in production during business hours
- Stay up-to-date with datastore technology evolution and share knowledge on new features, best practices, and industry trends
What you'll need
- 7+ years of experience as a Database Reliability Engineer, SRE with strong database expertise, or DBA with site reliability practices
- Strong expertise in PostgreSQL, Couchbase, OpenSearch or equivalent technology in high-load and high-availability environment
- Hands-on experience with Kafka or equivalent technology
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud environments (AWS, Azure or Google Cloud)
- Fluent in English
Nice to have
- Experience with multiple kinds of datastores and willingness to learn new technologies
- Experience with architecture choices for high traffic web applications and Database as a Product approaches
- Comfortable with Linux systems administration, automation, and performance troubleshooting
