Backend Engineer - Supply Chain & Logistics

About the role

This is a Senior Backend Engineer position focused on building and scaling supply chain and logistics systems for an AI-driven industrial trade platform. You'll work on core backend services that handle real-time data flows, complex routing logic, and integrations with logistics providers across global markets.

What you'll do

• Design and build backend services that power supply chain workflows from order management to LSP integrations and real-time tracking
• Develop event-driven pipelines that process high-throughput logistics data reliably at scale
• Build and maintain integrations with third-party logistics providers, ERPs, and warehouse management systems
• Own and evolve data models for complex supply chain entities like shipments, inventory positions, and fulfillment nodes
• Identify performance bottlenecks and lead engineering efforts to resolve them in production systems
• Work with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini) to build intelligent workflows and automation
• Collaborate with Product and domain experts to translate operational complexity into clean technical solutions
• Contribute to architecture decisions and raise engineering standards through code reviews and documentation

What you'll need

• 5-7+ years of backend engineering experience, ideally in logistics, supply chain, or operations-intensive domains
• Strong command of Java (Spring Boot) or equivalent JVM-based frameworks
• Experience designing systems for real-time data ingestion and processing (Kafka, Kinesis, or similar)
• Proficiency with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and modeling complex business domains
• Pragmatic approach to distributed systems with understanding of consistency, availability, and latency trade-offs
• Experience with third-party API integrations and legacy system challenges
• Detail-oriented mindset and motivation to ship reliable real-world solutions
