About the role
As a Working Student on our Recruiter Product team, you will be the driving force behind our product discovery - conducting user research, market analysis, and competitor research that directly shapes what we build. As you grow, you'll take ownership of initiatives that emerge from your research, acting as the PM for these workstreams in collaboration with our UX Design and Engineering teams.
What you'll do
- AI-First Workflows: Leverage tools like Claude Code and Langdock to automate and enhance research and PM processes, and push the boundaries of what AI-powered product management can look like
- User Research: Plan, conduct, and document user interviews and surveys with recruiters and employers to uncover pain points, workflows, and unmet needs
- Research Synthesis: Translate interview transcripts and research data into structured, actionable insights and recommendations that product teams can act on
- Market & Competitor Research: Analyse the competitive landscape to identify where HeyJobs leads, where we lag, and where opportunities exist - keeping the team informed on market trends
- Data Analysis: Collect and analyse qualitative and quantitative data to support product decisions, including post-launch impact assessments
- Knowledge Management: Build and maintain organised research repositories so insights are accessible and reusable across teams
- Own Initiatives: Over time, take the lead on product initiatives that emerge from your research - defining scope, collaborating with UXD and Engineering, and driving them to delivery
What you'll need
- University Enrollment & German Proficiency: Currently enrolled at a German university with fluency in German (at least C1 level) - as it is the primary working language in this role
- Curiosity and Initiative: Eagerness to learn, experiment, and suggest improvements - particularly around AI-assisted workflows
- Proactive Ownership: Independently clarifies tasks, drives projects forward with minimal guidance, and stays focused even when requirements are unclear or priorities shift
- Analytical Mindset: Proficiency in working with qualitative and quantitative data to draw actionable conclusions
- Strong Communication Skills: Ability to articulate findings clearly and concisely to diverse stakeholders
- Collaborative Spirit: Works well across functions, ensuring research informs product decisions end-to-end
- Empathy for Users: Strong instinct for understanding user needs and advocating for them within the product team
What they offer
- Work-Life Balance: 20 paid holidays, 3 weeks of work-from-anywhere per year, and flexible working hours
- Growing individually and as a team: 7 step career framework, regular performance reviews
- Health benefits: 10 free nilo.health coaching sessions per year for your mental health & Urban Sports Club membership program
- Great offices with high quality equipment: MacBook or ThinkPad, screen for home office + additional hardware
- Events & Feel Good initiatives: Fresh fruit, great drinks, company-wide end of year event, quarterly team events
- Position based at either Berlin or Cologne office
