About the role
This is a junior software engineer position at GetYourGuide for fresh graduates to build scalable systems that connect millions of travelers with unforgettable experiences. You'll work with mentorship from senior engineers while taking end-to-end ownership of features and actively using AI tooling in your daily workflow.
What you'll do
- Write clean code that ships to millions of travelers with support and mentorship
- Design and build reliable, scalable systems working closely with senior and staff engineers
- Take end-to-end ownership of features from problem understanding to shipping and iteration
- Use AI tooling actively and intelligently as part of daily workflow
- Build AI-powered product experiences that change how travelers discover and book
- Participate in code reviews and help improve codebase quality
- Collaborate with product and design partners to understand traveler problems
What you'll need
- Fresh graduate with shipped projects like side projects, open source contributions, or internships
- Ownership-driven mindset with proactive approach to improvements
- Deep curiosity and fast learning ability
- Bias for action with ship-iterate mentality
- Hands-on experience with AI tools like Claude or OpenAI APIs
- Solid foundation in computer science fundamentals and algorithms
- Experience building and shipping software professionally or through personal projects
- Comfortable working across backend or frontend systems
Nice to have
- Interest in full stack development with JVM languages and Vue.js/TypeScript
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, AWS/GCP, and microservices
- Open source contributions or visible portfolio with GitHub profile
