About the role

We are looking for a Tax Accountant/Manager to support our Head of Tax in daily VAT compliance and accounting operations. This role involves periodic VAT filings across multiple EU entities, invoice verification, transactional bookings, and assistance with transfer pricing documentation and annual financial statements.

What you'll do

  • Handle monthly and quarterly VAT advance returns for EU entities with professional accuracy and timeliness
  • Prepare summary declarations (ZM) and Intrastat reporting for cross-border transactions
  • Review incoming invoices for VAT compliance and book complex business transactions (intra-community supplies, reverse charge, margin scheme)
  • Support creation of transfer pricing documentation and intercompany pricing matters
  • Actively participate in annual financial statement processes and external tax audits
  • Collaborate closely with Head of Tax on developing and optimizing tax compliance processes
  • Design processes from scratch and systematically build tax compliance structures

What you'll need

  • Minimum 3 years practical experience in VAT compliance, ideally with focus on cross-border EU transactions
  • Strong knowledge of intra-community supplies, reverse charge procedures, and ideally margin scheme applications (preferably automotive sector)
  • Extensive knowledge of DATEV (DATEV Unternehmen Online and accounting)
  • Expertise in HGB accounting and German tax law (IFRS knowledge advantageous)
  • Excellent German (minimum C1 level) and English proficiency (C1 level)
  • Eye for detail and enjoyment working with complex tax matters
  • Strong organizational skills with independent, analytical thinking and action
  • Team player mentality and openness to continuous learning and improvement
