About the role

You'll be a full-stack engineer working on SumUp's merchant acquisition and onboarding systems. This role involves building scalable backend services, APIs, and frontend applications that support sales teams and partner integrations across the acquisition workflow.

What you'll do

  • Design, build, and maintain end-to-end features across backend services and frontend applications for merchant acquisition workflows
  • Develop and evolve scalable APIs and user-facing tools for Sales, Partner Acquisition, and Account Management teams
  • Build intuitive frontend interfaces that simplify complex operational processes and improve internal user experience
  • Ensure data consistency and reliability across systems handling leads, partner integrations, and acquisition pipelines
  • Write high-quality, maintainable code across the stack following platform standards and best practices
  • Improve system performance, observability, and reliability for business-critical tools
  • Collaborate with Product, Data, and cross-functional teams to translate business needs into scalable solutions

What you'll need

  • 5+ years of professional experience with strong proficiency in TypeScript and React
  • Hands-on experience building fullstack applications using modern frameworks like Next.js, Remix, or Nuxt
  • Strong experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs within microservices environments
  • Experience with SQL and event-driven architectures (Postgres, Kafka), especially in operational data systems
  • Good understanding of system architecture, software design principles, data modeling, and API design
  • Experience building internal tools or user-facing applications for non-technical users
  • Collaborative mindset with strong communication skills and clear ownership over delivered features
