Staff Product Designer - Expert Experience

About the role

As Staff Product Designer, you'll drive the design vision for expert-facing AI voice agent workflows, including configuration tools and orchestration systems. You'll lead your cross-functional team to translate complex technical capabilities into intuitive, usable experiences that empower experts to build conversational AI agents.

What you'll do

• Translate design vision into executable product experiences for expert-facing workflows
• Partner with product managers, engineers, and AI specialists to align on priorities and technical feasibility
• Balance powerful configuration capabilities with approachable user experiences for expert users
• Lead UX strategy and ensure research insights shape product decisions
• Prototype advanced interaction models for workflows, logic building, and AI orchestration
• Contribute hands-on design work while setting direction and raising team output quality

What you'll need

• 8+ years of product design experience in complex domains, including 2+ years in lead capacity
• Experience designing with AI tools in your workflow (prototyping, research, adaptive experiences)
• Proven ability to design configuration-heavy, expert-facing tools balancing flexibility with clarity
• Strong systems thinking skills for multi-layered flows with roles, states, and dynamic logic
• Experience collaborating with PMs and engineers to drive product outcomes
• Mastery of interaction and visual design for highly complex interfaces
• Research-driven mindset with experience in user research and usability testing
• Technical fluency to collaborate confidently with engineering teams
• Strong communication and storytelling skills to align cross-functional teams

Nice to have

• Experience creating human-AI interaction models balancing usability, transparency, and trust
• Background designing tools for configuring or managing AI systems
• Experience with conversational interfaces, automation tooling, or multimodal interaction design
• Familiarity with design systems in scaling teams
• Knowledge of voice technologies or telephony ecosystems
