About the role
Lead GetYourGuide's AI Platform team to build and scale centralized AI infrastructure that enables Mission Teams across the company to develop production-grade LLM features independently. You'll drive the technical strategy and team management for democratizing AI development while maintaining high product quality standards.
What you'll do
- Lead hiring and performance management for the Engineering team, developing engineers in the AI domain
- Drive high-impact projects by managing the team's roadmap and portfolio allocation
- Deliver solutions to complex technical challenges spanning multiple services and business domains
- Establish and evangelize best practices for LLM development across the Tech organization
- Balance rapid innovation with production standards for quality, security, and reliability
- Build strategic partnerships with stakeholders across product, engineering leadership, and vendors
What you'll need
- Strong engineering background in platform engineering, infrastructure, or developer tooling
- Proven ownership mindset with ability to align technical and product plans with stakeholder goals
- Experience leading technical, design, and product discussions while balancing innovation with reliability
- Passion for building and developing high-performing engineering teams through mentoring and coaching
- Excellence in evangelism and education to build confidence across technical teams
- Open-minded approach to complex topics with focus on simplicity in the evolving AI landscape
Nice to have
- Experience building platform infrastructure that enables teams to ship faster and more reliably
- Production experience with LLMs, including prompt engineering and evaluation systems
- Startup or high-growth environment experience taking projects from zero to scale
- Technical product management experience for internal platform products
- Track record of successful technical evangelism and education initiatives
