About the role

Lead security engineer position at voize, an AI healthcare company serving 150,000+ nurses. You'll manage comprehensive security across the organization, from vulnerability management to incident response, while ensuring compliance with healthcare security frameworks like HIPAA.

What you'll do

• Manage company-wide security including bug bounty programs, vulnerability assessments, and automated security updates
• Design and enforce secure architecture and engineering practices across all teams
• Conduct regular testing of infrastructure and applications to identify weaknesses early
• Lead security incident response efforts with focus on reducing detection and fix times
• Ensure ongoing compliance with security frameworks including HIPAA and C5 certifications
• Monitor emerging threats and assess their impact on healthcare services

What you'll need

• Several years of experience in vulnerability management, incident response, or security engineering in cloud-native environments
• Strong backend engineering fundamentals, ideally with Kotlin, and ability to collaborate with product/platform teams
• Hands-on security expertise with Linux, networking, Kubernetes/Docker, AWS, Infrastructure-as-Code/GitOps
• Database security experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, MongoDB, and DynamoDB
• Several years of experience assessing vulnerabilities, prioritizing risks, and designing long-term solutions
• Clear communication and collaboration skills with proactive security mindset

Nice to have

• Experience with security or compliance frameworks such as HIPAA, SOC 2, or C5
