Working Student Finance & Controlling

About the role

As a member of our Finance Team, you work directly with the CFO of Heartbeat AI GmbH and play a pivotal role in shaping the financial foundation of a fast-growing tech company committed to revolutionizing the global energy sector.

What you'll do

• Support financial planning & investor relations: You will assist in calculating and preparing financial scenarios for investors, helping to communicate the company's financial outlook clearly and compellingly
• Own real finance responsibilities from day one: You will support the monthly closing process (Monatsabschluss) of a scaling tech company, gaining hands-on experience across accounting, controlling, and reporting
• Drive financial insight across the business: You will work closely with internal stakeholders to build financial models, evaluate cost and revenue structures, and translate numbers into actionable recommendations

What you'll need

• You are currently enrolled in a degree program (ideally Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field) and have at least 20 hours/week of availability
• You are a motivated individual with a strong interest in finance, numbers, and building things that scale
• You have experience in and enjoy working with Google Sheets/Excel to build and maintain financial models, scenarios, and reports
• You have experience in and enjoy working with Google Slides/PowerPoint to create clear, concise presentations that communicate financial outcomes to senior stakeholders
• You have excellent language skills in both English and German (C1/C2) and are comfortable communicating across finance, product, and leadership teams
• You are detail-oriented, structured, and able to manage multiple workstreams while maintaining accuracy under tight deadlines
• You are a problem solver who can adapt quickly in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

Nice to have

• Relevant experience in finance, controlling, consulting, or a related area is a plus
• Previous exposure to the energy market or a tech startup is a plus but motivation matters most
