Senior Product Manager - Payments Platform (Backend)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Product Manager to join our Product team, focusing on scheme integrations and core payment platform components. You will be responsible for defining and executing the strategy that powers money movement for N26 customers across Europe, owning the entire product lifecycle for critical payment systems like SEPA, SWIFT, and alternative payment methods.

What you'll do

• Take ownership of the entire product lifecycle for scheme integrations and payment platform components
• Define and drive the product roadmap from ideation and strategy to design, implementation, and continuous improvement
• Drive implementation of new payment rails and features based on business data, customer insights, and company strategy
• Collaborate closely with Engineering and Design to build intuitive and compliant payment journeys
• Lead scoping and prioritization to deliver high-impact features, ensuring alignment between short-term goals and long-term vision
• Act as main point of contact and work cross-functionally with Compliance, Treasury, Operations, and Finance
• Monitor and optimize the product funnel, collaborating with data teams to improve performance, scalability, and user experience

What you'll need

• 5+ years of Product Management experience, ideally in FinTech, banking, PSP provider, or online retail
• Hands-on experience with payment scheme integrations (SEPA, SWIFT, FPS, or local rails)
• Proven track record of launching platform or backend-heavy products in regulated environments
• Excellent analytical skills, able to dive into specs, flows, and payment data
• Solid understanding of product prioritization and stakeholder management
• Strong collaboration and communication skills across disciplines and cultures
• Educational background in STEM, business, or economics
• Strong grasp of agile product development and delivery
