About the role
Cloover is enabling €100M+ in financing across five European markets — and the credit risk function is what makes that possible without compromising on quality. We're looking for a Credit Risk Analyst to own credit decisioning, KYC processes, installer onboarding, and portfolio monitoring end-to-end. You'll report to our Co-Founder & CFO and work closely with senior management from day one.
What you'll do
- Execute and continuously refine consumer credit assessments using company financials and bureau data.
- Continuously improve underwriting criteria through both process and technology enhancements, flag edge cases to the Head of Risk, and ensure every decision is defensible, documented, and aligned with our risk appetite.
- Set and monitor exposure limits per partner based on financial health and performance metrics, and coordinate site visits, sample testing, and periodic reviews to maintain partner quality.
- Run full KYB, AML and anti-fraud screening on installer partners: UBO verification, credit checks, and ongoing compliance monitoring.
- Build and maintain portfolio monitoring dashboards tracking credit quality, concentration risk, and early warning signals.
- Build and refine risk models that support underwriting decisions and portfolio management as the book scales.
- Analyse trends across regions, installers, and customer segments to identify emerging risks before they become portfolio events.
- Prepare risk reporting for internal stakeholders and support covenant monitoring across our financing vehicles.
What you'll need
- 2–3 years of relevant experience in a credit risk decisioning role — financial analysis, underwriting, and portfolio management.
- Bachelor's degree minimum in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
- AI-literate for the development and maintenance of in-house technologies for risk management.
- Excel power user — comfortable building models from scratch and analysing large datasets without needing a template to start from.
- Works with precision in a fast-moving environment: detail-oriented without being slow, rigorous without being rigid.
- Fluent in English and German — both required, given our markets and counterparties.
- Based in Berlin and energised by being in the room — we're intentionally office-first.
Nice to have
- Experience with BI tools such as Metabase, Power BI, or Tableau, or credit decisioning platforms.
- Programming skills in Python or R.
What they offer
- Strong base, bonus tied to outcomes, and meaningful equity.
- Unlimited enterprise-grade AI — no caps, no approval process.
- Prenzlauer Berg office with the latest Apple hardware.
- Free breakfast and dinner, stocked kitchen.
- 25 days vacation and Urban Sports Club (M).
