About the role

This is a Senior Data Engineer position within GetYourGuide's Supply Data Engineering team, focused on building trusted data foundations for the supply side of their travel marketplace. You'll work closely with Supply, Product, and Data teams to deliver reliable data solutions that enable supply decision-making and scale operations.

What you'll do

  • Deliver reliable, high-quality data solutions that enable supply decision-making
  • Work closely with Supply, Product, and Data teams to translate business needs into delivered outcomes
  • Proactively manage and evolve the team's data ecosystem covering architecture, testing, monitoring, and performance
  • Lead system design for new capabilities and continuously improve deployed systems
  • Unblock and level up the team through code reviews, design input, and hands-on support
  • Influence standards and technology decisions with focus on simplicity, reusability, and maintainability

What you'll need

  • 5+ years in a relevant data role with hands-on experience across data engineering technologies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Expertise in SQL and Python, building robust data pipelines and data models
  • Experience operating data at scale in warehouses/lakes (Delta, Snowflake, PostgreSQL/MySQL)
  • Strong DBT proficiency and familiarity with Spark/Hadoop
  • Understanding of data visualization through tools like Looker/Tableau and Jupyter notebooks
  • Ability to prioritize effectively, manage stakeholders, and translate business needs into technical plans
  • Proactive, customer-oriented mindset with end-to-end project ownership

Nice to have

  • Experience delivering data products in supply-adjacent domains (pricing, availability, inventory, quality)
  • Experience integrating frequently changing external/competitive data sources
  • Strong CS fundamentals and comfort with Java/Scala
