Software Engineer - Frontend

About the role

You'll be a senior frontend engineer at a defence AI company, leading the development of user interfaces and component libraries across multiple products. Working closely with product designers and engineers, you'll shape the frontend foundation while mentoring team members and establishing engineering standards.

What you'll do

• Own the user interface end-to-end from wireframes to production-ready code
• Establish and evolve React component library for consistency across multiple frontends
• Review code contributions, proposals, and RFCs from colleagues
• Propose and implement new features, capabilities, and tooling across the stack
• Collaborate with backend systems primarily written in Rust
• Mentor other engineers and contribute to interviewing pipeline
• Present work at weekly demo sessions and share technical knowledge
• Establish frontend engineering standards and build tools to enforce them

What you'll need

• Strong experience writing maintainable frontend code with TypeScript and React
• Experience with APIs and server-client communication (REST, GraphQL)
• Experience running live production software
• Passion for staying current with development best practices and frameworks
• Comfort working with unfamiliar backends, ideally some Rust exposure
• Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong collaboration skills including code review and pair programming
• Comfort with asynchronous work (PRs, RFCs, email discussions)
