About the role

Lead the Supply Data Engineering team at GetYourGuide to build trusted data foundations for the supply side of their travel marketplace. You'll manage a team of data engineers while acting as a strategic advisor to Supply, Product, and Data stakeholders to enable data-driven decision making and self-serve capabilities.

What you'll do

  • Hire, coach, and manage a high-performing team of data engineers through clear expectations and performance management
  • Shape the roadmap, strategy, and long-term vision for Supply Data Engineering aligned with business priorities
  • Act as strategic advisor to Supply, Product and Data teams, building relationships and driving adoption of datasets
  • Ensure strong data architecture, reliability, and quality while establishing effective engineering practices
  • Lead integration of internal and external datasets to enable dynamic pricing, inventory optimization, and quality improvements

What you'll need

  • 3+ years in data management role with hands-on experience
  • Excellent communication skills in English for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strategic leadership ability to translate needs into priorities and executable roadmaps
  • Cross-functional influence skills to align stakeholders and navigate trade-offs
  • Player-coach leadership combining technical depth with team management
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python with strong data modeling and pipeline design knowledge
  • AI-first mindset leveraging modern tools while maintaining quality standards

Nice to have

  • Marketplace business experience, ideally with supplier-side data
  • Experience with Databricks/Spark, dbt, and Looker or comparable technologies
  • Experience integrating challenging external and competitive data sources
