About the role
This is a Senior AI/ML Engineer position focused on developing and deploying AI-driven solutions that automate customer support and improve merchant experience. You'll be the technical leader for the Operations AI team, building and maintaining ML infrastructure and tooling that powers core products including AI Assistant, translation tools, and agent copilot systems.
What you'll do
- Serve as dedicated technical leader for the Operations AI team, designing and deploying scalable ML/AI solutions in production
- Architect, develop, and deploy AI solutions including AI Assistant (automating 40% of merchant requests), AI Translation, and AI Agent Copilot
- Develop and maintain ML infrastructure and pipelines for data processing, model training, serving, and continuous monitoring
- Optimize and fine-tune machine learning models, collect and preprocess large text datasets
- Implement software development best practices including version control, CI/CD processes, and unit testing
- Collaborate with Data Scientists, Product Managers, and stakeholders to enhance customer experience
- Master existing AI assistant infrastructure and work on behavior improvements and agentic rollouts
- Lead creation of Voice Assistant pilot and leverage current AI components for new channels
What you'll need
- 7+ years of experience as Machine Learning Engineer or AI Engineer with scalable solutions
- Expert-level Python proficiency and strong software development skills for large-scale production
- Strong experience with ML/AI models in production and understanding of AI, ML, and deep learning concepts
- Experience using GenAI/LLM APIs and evaluating LLM models in production
- Experience building and deploying ML models using cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Familiarity with MLOps tools (MLFlow, Kubeflow, Airflow, Langfuse) and hands-on experience with Kubernetes
- Understanding of data pipelines, API design, containers (Docker), and version control
- Experience building and scaling APIs with CI/CD deployment using GitHub actions
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work in fast-paced environment
