Agent Engineer

About the role

You'll design, build, and operate AI agents that handle critical customer support and internal workflows at Langdock. This role combines hands-on agent development with production operations, directly serving 5,000+ customers while shaping the future of agent operations.

What you'll do

• Own production AI agents end-to-end from design to deployment, monitoring, and improvement
• Build and operate customer support automation that resolves issues faster than humans while knowing when to escalate
• Manage agent reliability, cost, and quality through tracking performance, setting budgets, and tuning behavior
• Design orchestration layers that structure agent teams with approval gates and operational infrastructure
• Integrate agents with internal and external APIs to provide necessary context and capabilities
• Experiment with new models, techniques, and use cases, benchmarking and shipping improvements

What you'll need

• Experience building and maintaining AI agents or automations in production environments
• Deep technical understanding of LLMs, token economics, prompt engineering, API design, and orchestration patterns
• Strong focus on experimentation and reliability with experience in error tracking and customer satisfaction metrics
• Pragmatic approach to problem-solving, willing to kill complex solutions for simpler ones that work better
• Daily use of AI tools with active experimentation in models, prompts, workflows, and automations
• Preference for owning problems rather than following detailed instructions
