About the role
This is an Engineering Manager position leading a new team focused on building analytical and commercial foundations for SumUp's global sales channels. You'll oversee the consolidation of attribution and commission models into a unified, scalable product while working at the intersection of data, commercial strategy, and product development.
What you'll do
- Form and lead a new multidisciplinary squad from the ground up, working in close partnership with a Senior Product Manager
- Map, assess, and unify existing attribution and commission models into a global, cohesive product structure
- Partner with Data Engineering to migrate key logic from dbt/Snowflake into scalable backend services and APIs
- Ensure technical direction aligns with business strategy, maintaining consistent definitions across attribution, commissions, and commercial reporting
- Establish rigorous testing, monitoring, and audit capabilities to ensure data accuracy and transparency
- Implement sophisticated logic, including multi-touch attribution and MMM in collaboration with MarTech team
- Manage multiple competing priorities while providing hands-on technical and people leadership
What you'll need
- Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and scaling web applications and APIs, preferably using Go
- Proven experience in people leadership and managing cross-functional teams of multidisciplinary engineers
- Understanding of data engineering and analytical engineering principles
- Hands-on experience with data engineering lifecycle, key architectural components and system design
- Deep-dive, metrics-driven approach to problem-solving and ability to navigate complex legacy logic
- Ability to build credibility across technical, analytical, and commercial teams including Revenue Analytics, MarTech, and Finance
- Ability to balance technical excellence with pragmatic needs of a growing business
