Backend Engineer

About the role

You'll be a Senior Backend Engineer at Trade Republic, Europe's largest savings platform serving over 10 million customers. You'll build scalable cloud services and platform infrastructure using modern JVM technologies to support the company's mission of democratizing wealth building.

What you'll do

• Build and test services and products using modern JVM ecosystem tools like Kotlin, Spring, Vert.x, Hibernate, and jOOQ
• Design cloud services focusing on high availability, low latency and scalability on AWS
• Implement automated software delivery using GitHub Actions, container-based CI/CD pipelines, and Kubernetes orchestration

What you'll need

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, preferably in JVM ecosystem
• Experience developing and shipping scalable features within a service oriented architecture
• Strong commitment to delivering reliable and maintainable software using iterative development and continuous delivery
• Experience building platform services that act as foundation and accelerator for product development

Nice to have

• Prior experience in platform/foundations-focused teams
