Senior Manager, Finance and Accounting - Financial Services

About the role

This is a Senior Manager position in Finance & Accounting at a private markets investment platform. You'll lead accounting operations, ensure financial reporting accuracy, and help optimize processes as the company scales.

What you'll do

• Lead and manage core accounting processes, driving accuracy, compliance, and continual improvements
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
• Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, ensuring timely processing and reconciliation
• Identify opportunities to streamline and automate accounting processes
• Oversee audit preparation, coordinating with internal teams and external auditors
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards (HGB, IFRS) and internal policies
• Support budgeting and forecasting with data-driven insights and variance analysis
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting team members

What you'll need

• Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, ideally with leadership experience
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Full professional fluency in both German and English
• Proficiency in DATEV and other accounting platforms like Xero
• Advanced Excel skills and strong competency in Microsoft Office Suite
• In-depth understanding of accounting principles, tax regulations, and compliance requirements
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with ability to meet deadlines
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Experience in Private Equity environments
• Audit/Accountant qualification
