Senior Finance Controller

About the role

We're seeking a Senior Finance Controller to join as our first dedicated finance hire, responsible for building the financial foundation from the ground up. You'll drive forecasting, reporting, and compliance while supporting growth and investor relations in a fast-paced startup environment.

What you'll do

• Develop and own financial forecasting for revenue, expenses, and cash flow from scratch
• Create and maintain financial models to support fundraising, strategic decisions, and scaling
• Implement scalable financial processes and tools (ERP systems, expense management)
• Establish and oversee financial reporting, ensuring accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual statements
• Manage tax filings and statutory reporting with external accounting firm
• Define and enforce financial policies for expense approvals, revenue recognition, and fraud prevention
• Oversee payroll, accounts payable/receivable, vendor payments, and invoicing processes
• Monitor cash flow, bank reconciliations, and working capital management
• Prepare investor materials including pitch decks, KPI tracking, and performance reports
• Support financial due diligence and valuation analysis for fundraising and partnerships

What you'll need

• Proven ability to build financial processes and systems from scratch in startup environments
• Strong expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, and reporting
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems, expense management tools, and financial software
• Fluent in English and German (C1 level)
• Exceptional communication skills for stakeholder and investor management
