Backend Engineer - FinTech

About the role

You'll be a Senior Backend Engineer building critical financial infrastructure for an AI-driven industrial trade platform. This role focuses on payment processing, financial data reconciliation, and compliance-critical systems that demand precision and auditability.

What you'll do

• Design and implement backend services for payment processing, invoicing, reconciliation, and financial reporting
• Build robust, auditable data pipelines ensuring accuracy across all financial operations
• Develop integrations with payment gateways, banking APIs, and financial data providers
• Enforce data integrity standards and implement idempotency, retry logic, and failure handling
• Collaborate with compliance teams to translate regulatory requirements into technical solutions
• Contribute to fraud detection, rate limiting, and access control for financial operations
• Own incidents end-to-end including investigation, resolution, and post-mortems

What you'll need

• 5-7+ years backend engineering experience with meaningful FinTech or payments exposure
• Strong Java proficiency with Spring Boot and deep understanding of transactional systems
• Solid PostgreSQL experience including schema design, indexing, and query optimization
• Experience integrating with payment processors like Stripe, Adyen or banking APIs
• High ownership mindset caring about correctness and delivery speed
• Calm under pressure with structured thinking and rigorous testing practices
