General Ledger Accountant

About the role

This is a General Ledger Accountant position within the Accounting & Tax team at AMBOSS, a medical technology company. You'll have full ownership of key closing areas in a high-growth SaaS environment, working with both HGB and IFRS standards to ensure data integrity that supports strategic growth.

What you'll do

• Perform month-end and year-end closing activities for assigned areas (fixed assets, accruals, intercompany, or specific entities)
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, supporting schedules, and audit documentation
• Maintain accurate postings in accordance with German GAAP (HGB) and support IFRS reporting adjustments
• Ensure alignment between general ledger and sub-ledgers (AP, AR, payroll) and resolve discrepancies
• Support daily accounting operations and act as interface for internal stakeholders
• Assist in the transition from DATEV to Workday ERP
• Contribute to process improvements and increase automation within accounting
• Support accounting in a SaaS subscription-based environment

What you'll need

• 2-4 years of experience as a General Ledger Accountant in a German HGB environment
• Practical exposure to IFRS (reporting or audit-level)
• Experience with ERP systems (Workday, SAP, DATEV, Navision)
• Strong Excel skills and reconciliation experience
• Fluency in German and English
• Ability to work independently and take full responsibility within defined workstreams
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
