About the role
This is a Senior General Ledger Accountant position at AMBOSS, a medical technology company. You'll take full ownership of key accounting areas and entities within their expanding SaaS portfolio, ensuring technical compliance under HGB and IFRS standards while driving process improvements and serving as a key contact for auditors.
What you'll do
- Own the full month-end and year-end closing process for one or more legal entities
- Ensure technical compliance under HGB and IFRS, including complex areas like revenue recognition, inter-company, provisions, and accruals
- Prepare financial statements and technical accounting documentation
- Act as primary contact for external auditors and coordinate audit processes
- Review reconciliations and provide guidance to junior team members
- Drive the transition from DATEV to Workday ERP from an accounting perspective
- Design and improve accounting processes and internal controls
- Ensure consolidation readiness, including inter-company alignment and eliminations
- Support SaaS subscription accounting topics and related reporting
What you'll need
- 5+ years of experience in General Ledger Accounting
- Strong technical expertise in HGB and solid IFRS knowledge
- Experience preparing financial statements and managing audits
- Experience in a SaaS or subscription-based business model
- Experience with ERP implementations or system transitions
- Deep understanding of inter-company accounting and consolidation processes
- Fluency in German and English
- Strong ownership mindset and accountability for full accounting areas
- Process-oriented thinking with focus on continuous improvement
