About the role

As an Accountant at LAP Coffee, you'll play a key role in keeping our financial operations running smoothly during an exciting growth phase. Working closely with our leadership team, you'll ensure financial accuracy, support strategic planning, and help build the financial infrastructure we need as we expand across Germany.

What you'll do

  • Accounting operations: Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing across all locations.
  • Financial reporting: Prepare monthly financial reports and reconciliations to support decision-making and business planning.
  • Month-end and year-end closing: Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, coordinating with stakeholders to meet deadlines.
  • Compliance: Ensure full compliance with German accounting standards (HGB) and tax regulations, keeping us audit-ready at all times.
  • External collaboration: Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors, serving as the primary point of contact for accounting matters.
  • Planning support: Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities, providing financial insights to support our growth plans.
  • Process improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and support system implementations as we scale.

What you'll need

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3-5+ years of accounting experience, ideally in hospitality, retail, or fast-growing startups.
  • Strong knowledge of German bookkeeping, accounting standards (HGB) and tax law.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as DATEV, SAP, or similar tools.
  • Advanced Excel skills — able to build reports, analyze data, and present insights clearly.
  • Fluent in German (written and spoken); English proficiency is a must.
  • Comfortable working independently in a part-time capacity while staying connected to a growing team.

What they offer

  • Option to work part-time at 30-35 hours per week.
  • Work closely with Founders and leadership team to build and scale an innovative lifestyle consumer coffee brand.
  • Regular team events and a diverse, international team culture.
