About the role
Lead a cross-functional engineering team focused on internationalizing and evolving Raisin's investment products within the Investment & Pension Products tribe. You'll own backend-heavy services end-to-end in a highly regulated fintech environment where correctness, auditability, and resilience are critical.
What you'll do
- Lead full end-to-end delivery lifecycle from requirements analysis to production operations
- Manage a backend and fullstack engineering team with emphasis on Java-based services and event-driven systems
- Ensure systems meet high standards of reliability, scalability, security, auditability, and performance
- Participate in architectural discussions and provide technical guidance for backend and event-driven system design
- Establish operational culture including on-call participation, incident response, and root cause analysis
- Hire, onboard, and grow high-performing cross-functional teams across Backend, Web, and Mobile
- Provide continuous feedback and address underperformance constructively
- Collaborate with Product, Risk, Compliance and other stakeholders for aligned execution
- Drive OKRs with Product Manager ensuring predictable, sustainable delivery
What you'll need
- 3+ years of leadership and people management experience in backend-heavy environments
- 8+ years hands-on backend engineering experience with strong Java (Spring Boot) expertise
- Experience designing and operating event-driven architectures (Kafka or similar)
- Understanding of distributed systems challenges like idempotency, consistency, and failure handling
- Cloud-native architecture experience (preferably AWS), containerization, and infrastructure as code
- Production systems operation experience with on-call rotations and incident management
- Professional experience in fintech, banking, investment platforms, or highly regulated industries
- Experience with systems requiring data integrity, auditability, and transactional correctness
- Fluent English communication skills
